Unique History of Barossa Winemaking and 4 Course Lunch
DURATION: 4 hours approx.
PARTICIPANTS: 2-3
DEPARTURE TIMES: Friday, Saturday & Sunday 11 am
EXPERIENCE: Dive deep into the past and explore the unique history of Barossa winemaking, while enjoying the very best sights and surroundings from the skies. Your journey starts off from our heli-pad in the Hoffnungsthal Valley, before flying past the township of Lyndoch tracking right, along the western ridge of the Barossa Valley and continuing towards historic
Seppeltsfield Winery for some stunning views of the vineyards and palm tree studded roads that surround the winery.
Before you descend into Artisans of Barossa on the Northern side of Tanunda, you will catch a glimpse of Maggie Beer’s farm and the famous Penfolds Winery. You’ll then land within 20 metres of the entrance of Artisans of Barossa where you will indulge in a ‘Rarities’ experience, trying 6 wines from the full tasting selection, showcasing the influence of regions and winemakers within
the Barossa.
Artisans of Barossa is a collaboration of eight small winemakers, brought together by a shared commitment to protect and promote the art of small-batch Barossa winemaking, and has over 100 Barossa wines available! Once you have found a favourite wine or two, wander over to Artisans of Barossa’s restaurant, Essen. At Essen you will enjoy a four-course lunch of your choice. But your tour isn’t over yet.
Once onboard the helicopter, we will continue the flight along the outskirts of Tanunda heading south towards Jacob’s Creek Winery. Which is home to some of the largest wine tanks in Australia. From there you will travel to the most southern end of the Barossa, past the town of Lyndoch, over the Barossa Goldfields and the Whispering Wall, which holds back the Barossa Reservoir, before returning to the helipad in the Hoffnungsthal Valley.
